I painted this street as a place of pause — a city corner where I imagined stories unfolding behind shutters, balconies, and shadows. The blue balcony, to me, is not just architecture; it is a threshold, a lookout into other lives, other times. The woman seated at the table was born from this imagination — perhaps waiting, perhaps remembering, perhaps simply listening to the hum of the street. I felt the urge to capture not the city as it is, but the city as it lingers in the heart.
