When I painted this city, I felt it submerged in twilight — not darkness, but a strange green light that changed everything it touched. The cathedral became for me a beacon, its walls glowing with a quiet strength. I was less interested in precise forms than in the sensation of a place suspended between day and night, certainty and uncertainty. To me, this canvas is about the soul of the city: luminous, fragile, and yet unbroken in the face of time.
