This evocative canvas explores the liminal threshold between waking consciousness and the vast terrain of the dream. A shoreline bathed in golden amber merges with a deep celestial horizon, while skies unfold in dramatic, swirling strata of emerald, ochre, and indigo. The brushwork is turbulent yet luminous, articulating both intellectual unrest and the sublime surrender to stillness. It is a work of thresholds—poised between terra firma and tide, night and dawn, mortal awareness and boundless reverie.
At the Edge of the Dream
When painting this piece, I was not searching for physical geography, but mapping a state of consciousness. The water's edge became the edge of conceptual thought—the shore where silence dissolves into cosmic imagination. The heavens bore my disquiet, yet also my longing for ultimate peace. I felt poised between two worlds: one fading into mist, the other dawning into truth. This work is my personal confession: I have always lived, in some measure, at the very precipice of the dream.— Mihai Teodor Olteanu
