Born from an inexhaustible desire to explore the boundaries of chromaticism, Mihai Teodor Olteanu has established himself within the landscape of contemporary European art as a master of sculptural textures and meditative states. His works form a noble bridge between the heritage of traditional painting and the commanding force of modern abstraction.
Working exclusively in oil on canvas and applying successive layers of dense impasto with a palette knife, the artist constructs genuine chromatic bas-reliefs. Each canvas becomes a living organism, reacting dynamically and warmly to the changing ambient light throughout the day.
