This monumental bouquet ascends with the architectural strength of a vertical column, its blossoms transforming into a vibrant sanctuary of color and light. Dominated by fiery reds and incandescent oranges, the composition contrasts dramatically with the deep turquoise and emerald hues of the vase. Far from a conventional still life, the work evokes the concept of flora as a living pillar—a column of vitality, beauty, and renewal. The artist’s masterly impasto technique imparts a palpable tactile energy to the canvas, transmuting pure pigment into kinetic motion and physical presence.
Living Column in Hues of Flame
This painting was born from an inner imperative to liberate energy through color. I did not paint flowers as decorative ornaments; I painted them as rising flames, as emblems of life's primal heartbeat. Each stroke of red carried raw intensity, each note of orange was a spark of pure joy, and the turquoise of the vessel became the sheltering stillness that cradles the fire. As I painted, I felt as though I stood before a column of sheer light—fragile, radiant, and essential. It is my homage to life's fleeting beauty and my way of sustaining its eternal fire.— Mihai Teodor Olteanu
