PIGMENT ON CANVAS. ART WITHOUT COMPROMISE. An explosive encounter between classical easel painting and modern tattoo art.
Cupola Gallery at the Timișoara International Tattoo Convention
An explosive encounter between classical easel painting and urban visual culture.
At first glance, a classical art gallery appearing at a tattoo convention might seem like a paradox. In reality, it is a return to origins. Whether the pigment is injected beneath the skin with a needle or laid upon canvas with a palette knife in thick, impasto layers, the essence remains the same: the visceral urge to leave a mark.
Master Mihai Teodor Olteanu, the “Painter of the Revolution,” brings to the Timișoara Tattoo Convention a selection of works characterized by raw force, explosive color, and an uncensored artistic gesture. It is a visual dialogue between the artists of the new urban generation and a master who has dedicated half a century to free expression.
